The Traumatic Midbrain Syndrome and the Rehabilitation of Severe Traumatic Brain Injury by E Mller
The follow-up examination of 80 children and adolescents with post-traumatic coma lasting more than 24 hours and extensor reactions (= coma III), who had been treated in the intensive care unit since 1974, showed that 43 (= 54%) of these severely injured persons had fully or largely recovered. In another 12 (= 15%) it is a result of a defective cure. 21 (= 26%) died post-traumatically. The vital prognosis is essentially determined by the severity and duration of the brain dysfunction, recognizable by the duration of the coma and the extensor convulsions in the coma. After more than 4 days of coma III, none of these injured persons made a complete recovery. The duration of coma II and the vegetative state (coma vigile) also correlate significantly with the degree of recovery achieved later. With such severe brain damage, the level and behavior of the intracranial pressure determine the course of the disease. Patients with post-traumatic increases in mean ventricelliquor pressure above 20 mmHg have died in the early post-traumatic stage or after prolonged coma vigile. Literature Brihaye, J., Frowein, R. "I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."

"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
