Self-sterility and crossbreeding sterility in the plant and animal kingdoms by Friedrich Brieger
Out of the large number of different manifestations of sterility, the present monograph has singled out and summarised those which are characterised by the fact that fully functional sex cells can only be used in. certain compounds, self-alignments or crossings, are prevented from performing their function. The significance of this type of sterility, which should be called parasterility, for the entire field of biology lies in the fact that it gives us an insight into the developmental physiology of the fertilization process in the broadest sense. It is intended to summarize the other symptoms of sterility later. I have endeavored, as far as possible, to process the botanical and zoological special literature published up to the autumn of 1929 in a complete and critical manner. Beyond this date, only a few works could be considered. In discussing the parasterility of the higher plants, I also used my own findings that have not yet been published. The preparatory work and completion of the manuscript were facilitated by research grants from the International Education Board, New York, and the Notgemeinschaft der Deutschen Wissenschaften, Berlin. I am especially indebted to Privy Councillor C. CORRENS and Professor E. M. EAST for many suggestions and suggestions. For criticism in the review of the manuscript, I would like to thank Provost R. GOLDSCHMIDT and Professor M. HARTMANN, as well as my colleagues from Dahlem, Messrs. L. GEITLER, J. H MMERLING, E. KUHN and C. STERN. I am grateful to my father-in-law and my wife for help in completing the manuscript and in correcting it.| ISBN 13 | 9783642471360 |

"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."

"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
