Peroneal tendon luxation by Ernst Orthner
It is to the author's credit that all the new scientific findings on the luxation of the peroneal tendons are presented in an orderly form. Many students and physicians have hardly had access to these new findings so far, not least because a closed review has not existed so far. The author has carried out numerous anatomical and histological serial examinations of his own in order to better grasp the problems of pathomechanics and disposition of this injury. In a comprehensive chapter, the individual diagnostic options are discussed and the value of the respective methods is considered. The different possibilities of therapy and the advantages and disadvantages of the individual surgical and conservative methods are examined on the basis of the author's own experimental investigations and the author's extensive clinical experience, as well as in the mirror of the literature. Thus, guidelines are drawn up for the treatment of this injury. Dislocation of the peroneal tendons is a rare form of injury, but it is also often overlooked or misinterpreted.
