Non-specific rhino-sinusitis by Klaus Mees
Over 30% of all respiratory infections originate primarily in the paranasal sinuses and, together with inflammation of the ethmoid cells and maxillary sinuses, are among the most common diseases in an ENT practice. The focus of the 1st Sylt Secretolysis Talks, which were initiated by Pohl-Boskamp and which are to take place every 2 years in the future, were the non-specific defence mechanisms of the sinunasal mucosa. In front of an interdisciplinary forum, their complex disorders and the current therapeutic possibilities were presented and discussed. An important prerequisite for the non-specific immune defence of the respiratory mucosa is the intactness of the mucociliary clearance. This can be damaged in different ways, on the one hand by direct influence on the ciliary epithelium, but also indirectly by a viscosity change in the periciliary serous nasal secretion. Viral infections can significantly reduce the frequency of strokes and even bring them to a standstill, but decongestant alpha-adrenocetor agonists (xylometazoline) and possibly also some preservatives often present in nasal sprays also have an inhibiting effect on ciliary activity. In addition, the viscosity of the nasal secretion increases considerably in the case of inflammation, on the one hand as a result of the entciindal exudation and on the other hand as a result of the decreasing pH-dependent degree of hydration of the proteins dissolved in the nasal secretion (secretory IgA, glycoproteins, cellular enzymes, etc.). The goal of effective sinusitis therapy must therefore be the restoration of the disturbed mucosiliary clear-VI preface in addition to locally decongestant measures and the elimination of bacterial superinfections. Numerous defined chemical and plant secretolytics are available to stimulate the ciliary activity of the respiratory epithelium as well as the secretion capacity of the goblet cells and the subepithelial glands.| ISBN 13 | 9783540608530 |

"I was paying $11.99/month for Kindle Unlimited but realized I was renting books, not owning them. Bought this PDF and it's mine forever. Never going back to Kindle."
"Switched from Kindle to these PDFs. Same book, but I actually OWN it now. No monthly fees, no app required. Worth every penny."
"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."
"Was skeptical about paying $18.95 when Kindle shows $3.99, but then I did the math — Kindle Unlimited is $143/year! This is way better value long term."
"Love that I can read this on any device without installing the Kindle app. The PDF works on my laptop, phone, and tablet seamlessly. So much freedom."
"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
