Modern Suture Materials and Suturing Techniques in Surgery by A Thiede
The basis of this book is the international symposium held in Kiel on 11 and 12 September 1981: Assessment of the position of modern suture materials and suture techniques in surgery. An assessment of the location of modern suture materials and suture techniques in surgery serves to present the newly developed suture materials that have been proven in practice. Since these are primarily purely empirically developed surgical aids that are follow-up products of textile development, there is an increasing need for scientific examination of the suture materials themselves, the tissue reactions induced by the suture materials and the surgical techniques made possible by the suture materials. While silk and catgut were the suture materials available, a number of fully synthetic, non-absorbable, e. g. polyester fiids, and absorbable, e. g. polyglycolic urefides, have now largely taken over the role of surgical sutures. Thread processing, monofilament or polyfilament, allows the physical properties to be manipulated, while the surface properties of a thread can be varied by surface processing, e. g. coating. If only physical parameters, such as linear tensile strength, knot fit, knot fracture strength, elasticity, capillaritite and coefficient of friction of the thread surface, etc. , are determined, MeB and evaluation methods of the textile industry can be adopted. However, biochemical alterations of the fiids after implantation in the tissue, especially in the case of fully synthetic absorbable sutures, require more complicated, much less standardizable examination methods in vivo in order to record the tissue-dependent suture change and the suture-related tissue reaction.| ISBN 13 | 9783642687372 |

"I was paying $11.99/month for Kindle Unlimited but realized I was renting books, not owning them. Bought this PDF and it's mine forever. Never going back to Kindle."
"Switched from Kindle to these PDFs. Same book, but I actually OWN it now. No monthly fees, no app required. Worth every penny."
"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."
"Was skeptical about paying $18.95 when Kindle shows $3.99, but then I did the math โ Kindle Unlimited is $143/year! This is way better value long term."
"Love that I can read this on any device without installing the Kindle app. The PDF works on my laptop, phone, and tablet seamlessly. So much freedom."
"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
