Metaphysical Problems of Medicine by P Matussek
I. Zur aktuelle Lage del' Medizill. Since modern leticin freed itself from the fetters of an exclusively somatic view of the course of disease, it has been in a state of unrest. The safe ground she used in the investigation of the physical events. had to be left. It now stands where it must take a cue from the limited body as the sole place of origin of the disease. before the immense labyrinth of the soul. The view is confusing and distressing. No wonder that the first psychotherapists, when they became aware of the confusion of the soul's threads. to the ideas of the old familiar, somatic medicine and tried to explain the psychic with the laws of the body. People talked about the quantity, the mechanism, the energy of the soul and believed that in this way they had a firm grip on the soul. But the disappointment was not long in coming. The physician had to painfully realize that there is very little to do with the organic laws in psychia. The soul showed a different structure than the organic. This had to be accepted, bitter as it had been for the man who was so familiar with the laws of the body. But one would have to realize that a perception is something different from a process in the brain, that a psychic feeling cannot be composed of bodily elements, and that there are no measurable quantities to be found in the psyche.| ISBN 13 | 9783540014812 |
