Manual Medicine 1984 by J Dvorak
1m On behalf of the Swiss Medical Association for Manual Medicine and under the patronage of the FIMM (Fédération Internationales des Medicine Manuelle), we carried out an international seminar week following the 7th International Congress of the FIMM in Zurich (September 1983). During a week, 30 manual medicine experts from 12 countries discussed the state of manual medicine in the seclusion of the Fischingen Monastery Education Centre in eastern Switzerland. In the form of group work, the following priorities were set: - terminology, - evaluation of the findings (are the manual medical findings reproducible?), - therapy programme (degree of agreement in determining the therapy). Thanks to the great commitment of the participants, it was m6g1ich to put the discussed experiences into words during the working week and to present them to the entire committee for general discussion at the end of the respective thematic section. As organizers of this working week and as editors of the present publication, we hope to make a joint contribution to the development of standardized international manual medical terminology. If one thinks of the planned clinical study to evaluate the diagnostic reliability and therapeutic efficiency of manual medication, then consistency in terminology, description of findings and therapeutic procedure is a prerequisite for conducting multicenter clinical studies. Manual medicine can only achieve comprehensive recognition among the medical faculties if, firstly, it uses a generally understandable language and, secondly, if it first checks the methodology within its own ranks and then presents it to the school doctors.| ISBN 13 | 9783662084878 |
