Handbook of German Medicinal Plants by Alois Kosch
There is no doubt about the necessity of involving the medicinal plants growing in Germany more and more in therapy. Not only because the plant contains the active ingredients contained in it in organically dissolved form and not as chemically pure synthetics, but partly because the main active components become a pharmaceutical through the accompanying fibres such as human research is never able to produce. The preference for chemically pure chemicals in medicine was a necessity caused by the development of the present. It was not a goal - the insight has now grown that a physiologically correct therapy can only be successfully carried out with such means as correspond to the conditions under which the human organism can be influenced at all and without harm. Every medicinal plant represents such a pharmaceutical. The form in which the plant is used is not the essential thing. Whether it is decoctions, triturations, powders, from fresh or dried plants does not fundamentally determine the effect, only changes it. The only essential thing is that the entire active ingredients of the plant are always used and that the use of the pure substances is made for special cases. As a result of the development of therapy towards organic pharmaceuticals - this is not the place to develop the concepts of real medicine - the literature on medicinal plants has been considerably coarsened in recent years. The most important works of this kind are: The modern herb book by L.| ISBN 13 | 9783642906145 |

"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
