Glaucoma 2002 by Gnter Krieglstein
The symposium "Glaucoma 2002 - A Discussion Forum" on June 20 to 23, 2002 in Wertheim was the third of its kind in a row at the same location and already marks a good tradition. What all three symposia had in common was the discussion on current problems in glaucomatology, with reference to the traditional lecture concept of a conference. To structure the discussion, relevant questions were grouped into several sub-areas and discussed by renowned glaucoma experts with the ophthalmologists present. The main results of these joint discussions were summarized in a small conference proceedings and made available to those colleagues who could not be present in Wertheim. At the discussion forum in 2002, no questions/problems of Glau comatology were discussed, but case studies. Each individual patient problem was presented in relation to glaucoma-relevant medical history and findings in a diagram and one or more clinical illustrations, with a respectable discussion of "patient management" under the guidance of a competent moderator. The present book summarizes the 50 presented glaucoma patients with the most extensive discussion content and thus offers a particularly practical training program on glaucomatology.
