The peculiarities of electrosurgery compared to all other technical procedures of surgery assign it its own place in general and special surgery after the development it has taken in recent years. Mechanical tissue sparing, reduction of bleeding during the most careful operations, own possibilities of stopping bleeding, extension of the indications for surgery, and in some cases improvement of the prospects, especially by the substantial reduction of the surgical stool, have advanced surgical surgery in many areas and pointed out new paths. In spite of the progress that has been made, which is particularly evident in tumor surgery, electrosurgery, which has developed again and extensively, still offers a fiille of unanswered questions. The results of further experimental work and clinical experience will only determine the limits of today's electroeurgy and consolidate its foundations. My student Y. SEEMEN has contributed to the expansion of modern electrotherapy at my clinic with tenacity and success in experimental, technical and clinical work.
