Differentiated therapy with tricyclic antidepressants by Burkhard Pflug
In connection with the topic of differentiated therapy with tricyclic antidepressants, important questions relate to the use of the substances currently available in Germany and their effects in various areas and indications. What role do pharmacological findings play for the clinic, what insights has research been able to gain in recent years about these drugs, which may require a revision of previous assumptions? Tricyclic antidepressants have been around for more than 30 years, and despite the advent of new second-generation antidepressants, they continue to be used in the clinical and outpatient settings. Second-generation antidepressants have so far been seen more as an alternative for therapy resistance or for tolerance problems. The development of new antidepressants and their testing are also based on tricyclic preparations. For example, some of the tricyclic antidepressants are considered standard preparations, especially amitriptyline. The testing of new antidepressants against placebo is no longer possible today for ethical reasons. This gives rise to methodological problems, for example with regard to the comparability of different studies. The majority of the placebo-controlled studies available for tricyclic antide pressives show that the verum is superior to placebo (MΓΆller 1985). There are studies that point to the use of tricyclic antidepressants as a prophylactic in recurrent monopolar depression (Prien and Kupfer 1986) and that show an expansion of the range of indications, such as the use in pain treatment (Lindsay et al.| ISBN 13 | 9783540561293 |

"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."
"Was skeptical about paying $18.95 when Kindle shows $3.99, but then I did the math β Kindle Unlimited is $143/year! This is way better value long term."
"Love that I can read this on any device without installing the Kindle app. The PDF works on my laptop, phone, and tablet seamlessly. So much freedom."
"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
