The methodologically sound experimental set-up on the one hand and the comparative consideration of the results of other authors on the other hand allow a remarkable insight into the pathophysiological processes surrounding shock, fat intravasation, fat embolism syndrome and intramedullary osteosynthesis. I consider Wozasek's work to be a remarkable milestone.
